The National Temple Federation
About Us
Who We Are
Our Story & Purpose
Welcome to the official website of The National Temple Federation. The National Temple Federation is a national voluntary federation dedicated to the protection, preservation, promotion, and sustainable development of Hindu temples and their rich spiritual, cultural, and civilisational heritage across India.
Our Federation serves as a collaborative platform that brings together temple institutions, trusts, spiritual organisations, voluntary service groups, heritage conservation initiatives, scholars, devotees, and community volunteers from different States and Union Territories. While every affiliated organisation retains its own identity, traditions, and independence, the Federation promotes cooperation, knowledge sharing, coordinated action, and collective responsibility through a unified national framework.
This website has been developed to provide comprehensive information about our organisation, its vision, mission, activities, membership opportunities, public initiatives, news, publications, and programmes. It is designed to encourage transparency, institutional excellence, public participation, and meaningful engagement while using modern technology to strengthen communication and preserve India's invaluable temple heritage.
We firmly believe that the protection of temples and the preservation of cultural heritage are shared responsibilities that require the collective participation of devotees, volunteers, scholars, service organisations, professionals, and every citizen who values India's timeless spiritual traditions. Through lawful, peaceful, and constructive initiatives, we strive to contribute to the long-term welfare of temples and society.
Protect Our Temples. Promote Spirituality. Preserve Our Heritage.
-
The National Temple Federation is a national-level voluntary federation established to bring together Hindu temples, temple-based institutions, spiritual organisations, and volunteers engaged in temple service across India through a common platform of cooperation and coordination.
-
India's temple heritage has been preserved for centuries through the dedicated efforts of countless organisations, institutions, and volunteers. Recognising the value of these contributions, the Federation serves as a collaborative platform that connects these diverse organisations while respecting their unique identities, traditions, and independence.
-
Organisations involved in temple maintenance, heritage conservation, Uzhavarapani (voluntary temple service), devotional recitations, spiritual education, charitable activities, cultural awareness, and other temple-related initiatives may become part of the Federation without altering their own name, leadership, organisational structure, or independent activities.
-
The National Temple Federation is not intended to replace existing organisations. Instead, it provides a national framework that encourages unity, cooperation, knowledge sharing, coordination, and collective engagement among organisations working for the welfare of Hindu temples.
-
The Federation is committed to supporting the preservation of India's temple heritage and promoting constructive public participation through lawful, peaceful, and collaborative initiatives that contribute to the welfare, cultural significance, and sustainable future of Hindu temples.
-
With unity as its strength, service as its identity, heritage as its responsibility, and the future as its vision, The National Temple Federation continues its journey as a national movement dedicated to strengthening India's temple ecosystem.
